January 2023 one of the warmest in more than six decades

January 2023 was one of the warmest of its kind in Czechia for more than 60 years, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute informed on Friday. With an average temperature of 2 degrees Celsius, the month was 3.4 degrees warmer than the past 30 year average and ranks alongside January 1975 as the third warmest since 1961. Only the first months of 1983 and 2007 saw higher temperatures.
