Jana Semerádová and Michaela Pavlátová awarded French Order of Arts and Letters
Film-maker Michaela Pavlátová and artistic director of early music ensemble Collegium Marianum, Jana Semerádová, have received the prestigious French Order of Arts and Letters. The honor was presented by French Ambassador Stéphan Crouzat at the Buquoy Palace in Prague's Malá Strana on Friday.
Michaela Pavlátová's film credits include ‘My Sunny Mad’, which won the César for best animated film in 2023. Jana Semerádová was recognized for her significant contributions to promoting French Baroque music and cultural heritage.
The Order of Arts and Letters, awarded by France’s Ministry of Culture, honors individuals for exceptional contributions to the arts and literature. Among other Czech recipients are filmmakers Jiří Menzel and Věra Chytilová, opera singer Magdalena Kožená, and former President Václav Havel.
