Invited guests come to Rudolfinum to say goodbye to Bartoška
Hundreds of guests, including family, actors, politicians, colleagues and collaborators, were present at the Prague Rudolfinum on Tuesday evening for the private part of the official farewell to actor and president of the Karlovy Vary Festival Jiří Bartoška. Before that, the public was able to say goodbye to the popular actor for seven hours, and thousands of people walked the red carpet to the Rudolfinum with flowers.
Famous actors were also among those attending, as well as former first lady Livia Klausová and former Minister of Finance Miroslav Kalousek. Prime Minister Petr Fiala also attended. Mr. Bartoška, one of the most striking and charismatic personalities of Czech film and theatre, had been battling cancer for several years, and died on May 8th at the age of 78.
