International study claims face masks do work

A new article published in the prestigous PNAS scinece journal claims that face masks do help slow the spread of the coronavirus. The article is the result of an international study conducted with the input of the chemist Vladimír Ždímal from the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Czech News Agency reported on Tuesday.

The study was based on a synthesis of various aspects of mask wearing, including epidemiological evidence, ecological research, experimentation and psychology, Dr. Ždímal said. It sumarises 150 previously published articles on the subject.
