Interior Ministry and police websites hit by cyberattack
Hackers targeted the websites of the Czech Interior Ministry and the police force on Thursday afternoon, rendering them inaccessible for about an hour due to reported overload. Ministry spokesperson Ondřej Krátoška said experts are investigating the source of the attack, which is believed to have come from the Russian hacking group Server Killers. Czechia faced a similar cyberattack in mid-March, when hackers disrupted the state’s construction permitting system. Just weeks later, other attackers gained access to Prime Minister Petr Fiala’s (SPOLU) private account on the social platform X.
