Interior Minister opens up about costs of refugee crisis
The Ministry of Interior has thus far spent CZK 10 billion on managing the refugee crisis which sprund up as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the head of the ministry, Vít Rakušan, told Czech Television on Sunday. He expects that solving the migration question will likely cost the ministry between 20 to 30 billion crowns. A strategy of how to manage the crisis further will be discussed by the government and proposed to the Chamber of Deputies by next Thursday, the minister said.
Mr Rakušan also said that the government is planning to create a Ukraine crisis coordinator at the Office of Government.
