Interior Minister to discuss border controls with V4, Austrian and German counterparts
Interior Minister Vít Rakušan will hold talks with his counterparts from the Visegrad Group on illegal migration and border controls in Central Europe in Szeged, Hungary on Monday. The meeting will also be attended by German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser and her Austrian counterpart Gerhard Karner.
Central European countries have introduced temporary border controls in recent months in an attempt to ease the influx of migrants, mainly from the Middle East and Afghanistan.
The aim of the meeting, initiated by Czechia, is to draw up a plan on the basis of which border controls could be ended. The ministers are also scheduled to visit the border with Serbia and meet with police officers.
