LOT to start flights to Iraq next week
Poland's national carrier LOT is to begin commercial flights to Iraq next week. They will be the first International commercial flights to and from Iraq since the 1991 Gulf War.
Thai authorities release Czechs from prison
The authorities in Thailand are to release two Czech men serving long prison sentences for smuggling heroin. The two will be transferred to a Czech prison, where they are likely to serve much-reduced sentences.
Hungarian troops join Iraqi stabilization force
The main body of a 200 strong Hungarian contingent has arrived in Kuwait. They're to form part of the international stabilization force in Iraq, and will serve under polish command.
Right-wing demo banned in Austria
A planned demonstration by extreme right wing groups in Austria has been banned. The event had been organised to protest a decision to withdraw the honoured grave status from a World War Two Luftwaffe fighter pilot who's buried in Vienna.
Slovak government relaxes privatisation law
And the Slovak government has amended its privatisation law to enable the sale of majority positions in state-owned monopolies. Parliament still has to approve the amendment.
