Inflation in Czechia slowed to 2.5 percent in August

Inflation in Czechia slowed to 2.5 percent in August from 2.7 percent in July, according to a preliminary estimate by the Czech Statistics Office. Consumer prices rose 0.1 percent month on month. The final figure will be released next Wednesday.

Energy including fuel was the only category cheaper than a year ago, with prices down 4.4 percent. Without energy, inflation would have been 3.5 percent. Growth in food, goods and services also moderated.
