Industry Minister: tender to expand Dukovany NPP possible soon after October elections

The current government could issue a tender to build another reactor at the Dukovany nuclear power plant after the mid-October elections, Industry and Trade Minister Karel Havlíček said on Tuesday.

According to the state-controlled power utility ČEZ, which operates Dukovany, all relevant information on expanding the plant could be sent to applicants by the end of November.

Three companies are in the running: the French energy group EdF, the US company Westinghouse, and the South Korean manufacturer KHNP.
