Industry and Trade Minister plans CZK 30 billion energy aid for large businesses
Industry and Trade Minister Jozef Síkela will on Wednesday propose that the government allocate CZK 30 billion to compensate large companies for increasing energy prices. According to the minister, the aid should help around 8,000 companies.
Ahead of a government meeting, Mr Síkela said he didn‘t envisage setting maximum energy prices for companies because European legislation did not allow it. The firms will receive the support in the form of compensation for losses. They can start applying for it already this year.
The minister wants to compensate primarily energy-intensive industries, such as manufacturing or mining.
