Indictment: Babiš created conditions under which Stork’s Nest got subsidy

Former Czech prime minister Andrej Babiš personally created the conditions under which the company behind the Stork’s Nest conference centre near Prague outwardly appeared to meet the criteria for a CZK 50 million EU subsidy, the Czech News Agency reported on Tuesday, citing the indictment against Mr. Babiš.

The ANO leader and billionaire businessman is due to face trial over the alleged subsidy fraud in September. If found guilty Mr. Babiš could get a jail term of up to 12 years. He denies any wrongdoing.
