Hundreds take part in winter swimming event in Prague
The annual Polar Bear dip in the Vltava River drew hundreds of winter swimmers to central Prague on Friday. A total of 330 swimmers aged 13 to 83 took part in the 79th Alfred Nikodém Memorial this year. The water temperature was just under four degrees Celsius, which is considered ideal for winter swimmers, as this temperature marks the threshold used to calculate winter swimming grades. Air temperatures on the riverbank were almost eight degrees lower.
