Hundreds demonstrate in support of Palestine in Prague city centre
Several hundred people gathered to demonstrate in support of Palestine at Prague's Náměstí míru square on Sunday, demanding an end to Israel's retaliatory attacks on the Gaza Strip. Participants waved Palestinian flags and banners reading “Free Palestine!” and “End the genocide!” as they marched through the city centre. Speakers highlighted the suffering of the civilian population and the need for more humanitarian aid to Gaza. Among those present were also former ombudsman Anna Šabatová, priest Tomáš Halík and Bishop Václav Malý, who recently criticized the Czech government for unconditionally supporting Israel's military actions and the lack of discussion in the Czech public space about what is happening in the Middle East.
