Hundreds demonstrate against nuclear waste depot in South Bohemia

Hundreds of residents in the South Bohemian region of Pošumaví organized a demonstration on Saturday to show their dissatisfaction with state considerations of building a nuclear waste storage facility in the area, the Czech News Agency reports.

The protest was undertaken in the form of an annual “March for the conservation honoring and preserving nature and life”, which took the route along the area delineated for the considered facility that would house waste from nuclear power stations half a kilometer under ground from the year 2065.
