Hundreds commemorate 1968 events outside Russian Embassy

Several hundred people gathered on Boris Nemtsov Square outside the Russian Embassy in Prague 6 on Thursday evening to mark the anniversary of the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia by Soviet-led Warsaw Pact forces.

They also expressed support for Ukraine, which has been defending itself against Russia's invasion since 2022. The event, called "Go Home, Ivan!", was organised by four non-profit organisations, including People in Need and Memory of Nations.

The gathering lasted about an hour, with no incidents reported.
