Human trafficking gang who forced migrant slaves to work at McDonald's jailed for 26 years
Three members of a trafficking gang have been sentenced to a total of 26 years in prison for exploiting vulnerable migrants, forcing them to work in fast-food outlets and car washes for as little as £10 a week. The gang members lured 11 Czech and one Slovak national to the UK with false promises of better job opportunities. Upon arrival, they confiscated their passports and kept them in poor conditions in Enfield, North London. The victims worked in various locations, including a McDonald's and a bakery, generating £400,000 a year for the traffickers while receiving minimal pay.
