HolKa: The Footbridge Between Holešovice and Karlín

The Štvanice footbridge, known to Prague residents simply as HolKa (Girl), connects Holešovice, Karlín, and the island Štvanice.

Designed by architects Petr Tej and Marek Blank in 2023, it has since become one of the most beautiful spots for a stroll along the river Vltava.

Made from ultra-high-performance concrete, its shape makes it appear light, as if it were floating above the river.

As you walk across, don’t miss the sculpted details: the railing is adorned with the heads of a horse, a bull, and a hare, representing the parts of the city the bridge connects.

Stop halfway across and look at the Prague Castle or the Vítkov Hill. Whether it‘s autumn, winter, a sunset, or a foggy morning, this spot always treats you to a beautiful view.
