Heavy rain warning declared in north and east Bohemia
The Czech Hydro-Meteorological Institute has warned against heavy rains in the Krkonoše and Jizera mountains in the north of the country on Saturday. In the region of Frýdlant, precipitation could reach up to 80 millilitres by Sunday noon. Flood alert has also been declared for the region of Chrudim, in eastern Bohemia.
Persistent rain has already swollen rivers in many parts of the country. The highest, third-degree flood alert is in place in towns and villages along the Smědava and Řasnice rivers in the region of Frýdlant, which have experienced flash floods in the past.
