Health Ministry preparing large scale study to estimate herd immunity levels in Czech population
The Czech Ministry of Health is preparing a large scale study that will test the level of antibodies and cell immunity to the COVID-19 coronavirus, Czech Radio reported on Thursday. The main aim of the project is to gauge the real level of herd immunity within the population. The state wants thousands of volunteers to take part in the research project that will also try to find out how exactly antibodies and cell immunity protect the individual.
Two centres in Prague and one in Olomouc have been selected for testing as part of the study. Deputy Health Minister Martina Koziar Vašáková told Czech Radio that other centres may be included in the research later.
