Health Ministry capping price of antigen and PCR tests for self-payers

The Health Ministry has announced it will further reduce the price of antigen and PCR tests for self-payers. As of June 8, the price ceiling for a PCR test has been reduced to 814 crowns, down from the present 1,510 and that of an antigen test to 201 crowns, down from 351 crowns.

At present each person with health insurance has two PCR tests and four antigen tests a month for free.

Health Minister Adam Vojtěch said tests must be affordable since they would be required at services and cultural venues throughout the summer.

Mandatory testing against Covid-19 in firms and state institutions will end at the end of June.
