Health Ministry cancels previously announced face masks measures

Czech Minister of Health, Adam Vojtěch, has cancelled the previously announced measures concerning wearing of face masks in public. Mr Vojtěch made the announcement on Thursday, following a meeting with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.

Contrary to the previous announcement, face masks will not be returning to shops, hairdressers and restaurants in September 1.

The wearing of face-masks in schools will be regulated by a four-level "traffic light" system operated by the Ministry of Health and will only be required in districts designated orange, which means a medium degree of coronavirus risk.

Face protection will be mandatory on public transport, in health facilities and voting stations, as well as other public buildings.
