Health Minister Vlastimil Válek: government plans to boost PCR testing capacity

The newly appointed government plans to increase PCR testing capacities against Covid-19, Health Minister Vlastimil Válek said in a debate on TV Prima on Sunday, adding that the cabinet will start looking at new methods of testing because of the new omicron variant.

Mr Válek said he will submit a proposal for further action to the government next week, focusing on three areas. In addition to testing, he would like to ensure equal care for people hospitalized with Covid across all of the country’s regions. The newly appointed Minister of Health also said it was essential to keep the country’s school open.
