Health minister: Czechia interested in buying 2 million doses of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine

The Czech Republic is interested in securing 2 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine developed by American pharmaceutical company Pfizer, Health Minister Jan Blatný said on Wednesday. He hopes that once the vaccine becomes available, the country should have 5 million doses in total, because the government has also agreed to purchase 3 million doses of the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca.

To ensure delivery, the Czech Republic has joined in a non-binding agreement on the EU level, the health minister said.

Once available, medical personel and seniors will be prioritised for inoculation.
