Head of state-owned forestry company Lesy ČR sacked

Agriculture Minister Marian Jurecka has dismissed the CEO of the state owned forestry company  Lesy ČR Josef Vojáček. The minister, who took office last Friday, criticized the CEO for bad  management and failure  to reorganize the company effectively. Josef Vojáček has led the company since 2018, during the worst years of the bark beetle infestation that damaged large areas of Czech forests.  Lesy ČR manage around 1.2 million hectares of forests, thats approximately half of the forests in the Czech Republic.
