Head of Krkonoše National Park dismissed
The head of Krkonoše National Park, Robin Böhnisch, has been dismissed by Environment Minister Igor Červený (Motorists). According to the Park administration, the decision was made by mutual agreement. No specific reasons were given. Böhnisch’s departure comes at a time when the government has announced cuts in funding to all of the country’s national parks by tens of millions of crowns. The Krkonoše National Park Administration has already warned that, because of the cuts, it will use up its entire financial reserve this year. Minister Červený met with the leadership of national parks to discuss financing issues at the end of February, but refused to budge on the cuts.
