Head of Czech Syndicate of Journalists Adam Černý dies at 73

The head of the Czech Syndicate of Journalists, Adam Černý, has died at the age of 73. The Syndicate of Journalists, of which he was chairman for 18 years, announced the news on its website. Černý was a long-time contributor to the dailies Lidové noviny and Hospodářské noviny. He also closely cooperated with Czech Radio.

In 2006 Adam Černý received the prestigious Ferdinand Peroutka Award for outstanding journalism. The Ferdinand Peroutka Prize, launched in 1995, is named after one of the most prominent Czech journalists of the 20th century.
