Granary and garden named monuments of the year

The špýchar granary, which lies within the wider farm in Myštice, South Bohemia, and Kumpánova garden within the Benar park in Slaný, Central Bohemia, were named Monuments of the Year on Tuesday by the Association of Historical Settlements in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.

A total of 45 monuments were in the running at the annual competition, which hands out awards for the best reconstruction of a historical monument. The granary took first place in the minor category for reconstructions up to CZK 2 million, while the First Republic era Benar park, won in the large reconstruction category, for reconstructions above the afore mentioned cost.
