Gov't passes measures to curb impact of soaring energy prices
The Czech government approved a series of new measures to help mitigate growing energy prices. This includes an increase in state housing allowance, which is being prepared via an amendment to the law on state social support. Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Wednesday that the government’s intention is to provide targeted support to the most affected in society.
The state will also help affected households on a one-off basis with the payment of arrears, or assist with covering other necessary expenses for which the households do not have their own money left after the payment.
The cabinet also approved an extension of the Záruka (Guarantee) investment credit programme to help affected entrepreneurs.
