Government spent 241 billion crowns fighting Covid-19

The government spent 241 billion crowns on fighting the coronavirus epidemic this year, according to a survey of expenditures related to the coronavirus crisis published by the Ministry of Finance.

The bulk of the money was swallowed by compensation for the restrictions enforced, Antivirus aid programs, purchases of protective equipment, debt relief for hospitals, or tax deferral.

The head of the National Budget Council, Eva Zamrazilová, says the expenditures were inevitable, but the government should now try to slow down the country's indebtedness.
