Government expands Covid-19 testing in schools by 23 more districts

Mandatory coronavirus testing in Czech schools will expand by a further 23 districts next week, the government announced on Monday, to 31 districts in total.

The threshold for such testing is a seven-day incidence of 300 new Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In eight districts, including Prague, Brno and Pilsen, testing begins today.

Further rounds of testing will be carried out on the following two Mondays (November 8 and 15, chief hygienist Pavla Svrčinová announced earlier.

Students who are fully vaccinated will not be tested. Children who refuse to be tested and do not have proof of having recovered from Covid-19 in the past six months must wear facemasks in class.
