Government earmarks billions for education of Ukrainian children
The Czech government has approved the earmarking of CZK 5.2 billion to integrate Ukrainian refugee children into the country’s education system. Speaking after a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Education Minister Petr Gazdík said that the funds would go toward placing children in regular classes, adaptation groups for kindergartens and elementary schools and Czech courses for both pupils and teachers from Ukraine.
The minister said there were currently 125,000 Ukrainian refugees aged between three and 18 in the country.
