Government to earmark CZK one billion for humanitarian and development aid

Czech government will earmark around CZK one billion for humanitarian and development aid in 2022, the Czech News Agency reported on Saturday, citing Foreign Ministry sources.

The sum, which includes finances from EU funds, is about one hundred million crowns less than the amount set aside for this year.

Over CZK 300 million is to be used for bilateral aid in the so-called priority countries, which include Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Georgia, Ethiopia, Zambia and Cambodia. The Czech aid will also be channelled to Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Over CZK 437 million are set aside for development projects coordinated by the Czech Development Agency.
