Government approves creation of national housing register

The Czech government has approved the establishment of a national housing register that will allow the state to track how many flats exist in the country, where they are located, and their size. According to Regional Development Minister Petr Kulhánek (Mayors and Independents), a basic version of the register should be completed within two years of the approval of the new law on core registers. The system is expected to be fully operational by the next national census in 2031.
