Government agrees to make respirators more affordable

The governmet has approved a proposal by Finance Minister Alena Schillerová to suspend the 21 percent VAT on respirators for two months in order to make them more affordable.

The minister has called on producers and retailers of FFP2 and other high-grade respirators to reflect the abolition of VAT in the final price of the product.

The move comes following a government recommendation for Czechs to use respirators in public transport and shops. It was welcomed by the Association of the Nanotechnology Industry.
