Global military spending rose 2.9% last year, fell in Czechia
Global military spending increased by 2.9% last year to $2.89 trillion, despite a decline in the United States caused by President Donald Trump’s decision to halt funding for military aid to Ukraine, according to a report released today by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
In the Czech Republic, spending fell by 0.4% to $7.1 billion. The country also dropped one place to 39th in the global ranking of military expenditures, the report said.
