Germany likely to put Czechia on list of high-risk states on Thursday
Germany is likely to put the Czech Republic on a list of high-risk coronavirus states as of Thursday, the ctk news agency reported, citing the Czech ambassador to Germany, Tomáš Kafka.
Ambassador Kafka said that Chancellor Merkel and Prime Minister Andrej Babiš had discussed the matter by phone and come to an agreement that, should this happen, it would not affect cross-border workers between the two countries. However it would mean that Czech citizens travelling to Germany would have to produce a negative test on the border, whereas now they can undergo a test on German soil.
The new category of “high risk“ states, which Germany introduced a week ago, are states with dangerous new mutations of the coronavirus or over 200 new cases of the virus per 100,000 inhabitants detected in the course of a week.
