Funeral service for Meda Mládková to take place on May 19

The funeral service for art collector and patron Meda Mládková will be held on Thursday, May 19, at the Church of Our Lady Victorious in Prague’s Karmelitská Street, starting at 3 pm. The service will be open to the public, Jiří Pospíšil, chairman of the Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation, told the CTK news agency on Monday. Meda Mládková passed away on May 3 at the age of 102. She will be remembered as a promoter of Czech modern art, particularly the work of painter František Kupka and as a woman who supported struggling Czech artists behind the Iron Curtain from her home in the United States.
