Frank Lloyd Wright exhibition opens in Prague
Those with an interest in modern architecture have a unique chance to visit a new exhibition in Prague depicting the work of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Alena Skodova was at the opening ceremony and has this report:
The work of Frank Lloyd Wright, generally considered to be the leading personality in modern architecture and design in the first half of the 20th century, is now on display for the first time in the Czech Republic in a large scale exhibition. Wright has been called as the most famous architect in modern times, a description that he also used. Although he constructed no buildings in Europe, his influence on several generations of architects in the old continent is quite apparent. Professor Vladimir Slapeta told me about how well-known Frank Lloyd Wright was in pre-war Czechoslovakia: The Frank Lloyd Wright exhibition can be seen at the Obecni dum, or the Municipal House, in Prague until April 15th.
