Four injured in chemical plant explosion in Lovosice
Four people were injured in an explosion at a chemical plant in Lovosice on Monday evening. The blast, caused by ignition of hexane vapours, occurred at around 11 p.m. on the premises of the company Preol. Twelve firefighter units were called in to fight the blaze.
According to the spokesman of the rescue service in Ústí nad Labem, four employees suffered burns and had to be transported to the hospital.
The company Preol, which is part of the Agrofert group, is one of the Czech Republic’s biggest producers of biofuels.
