Former president Zeman: Czech left could benefit from joint alliance
Left wing parties in Czechia would benefit from a joint alliance, former president and former leader of the Social Democrats, Miloš Zeman, said in an interview for CNN Prima News on Sunday. Mr. Zeman said left-wing forces in the country had long been fragmented and they could bolster their position by uniting within the coalition "Enough!" led by the Communist Party. He said it would be good for the left if the head of the Communist Party Kateřina Konečná and the head of the Social Democrats Jana Maláčová, could agree on a joint ticket in the 2025 general elections.
