Foreign Minister: Russian imperialism threatens not just Ukraine, but the democratic world

Russian imperialism remains a long-term threat to Ukraine, Europe, and the entire democratic world, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský said at a Prague conference on European resilience on Thursday.

He stressed the need for vigilance toward both Russia and China, and called for protecting democratic processes, including elections and digital spaces.

Mr. Lipavský warned that Russia’s ambitions go beyond Ukraine, and will continue to pose a major security threat for years. He described Ukraine as a key partner in defending European security and resilience, as Russian destabilization efforts grow across both physical and digital fronts.
