Foreign minister opens new Czech schools in Croatia during official visit

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tomas Petříček is on a two-day official visit to Croatia to discuss opportunities to expand bilateral trade, investment and cooperation and officially hand over funds to help the population of 10,000 Czechs there, many of whom were impacted by a recent earthquake.

Petříček began by meeting the Croatia’s prime minister and paying tribute to victims of the Yugoslav civil war by laying a wreath in the village of Ivanovo Selo, founded by ethnic Czechs. He also opened a new branch of a Czech primary school and a kindergarten.
