Forecasters issue snow and black ice alert

A black ice warning has been issued for most of the Czech Republic from Saturday evening to Sunday morning. Drivers and pedestrians have been advised to exercise extreme caution due to icy conditions caused by a sudden drop in temperatures.

Meteorologists have also warned against heavy snow in the east of the country. Up to six centimetres could fall within three hours on Sunday morning. A high wind warning remains in place for the regions of South Moravia and Zlín.
