Football: Slavia Prague tie Glasgow Rangers 1-1 at home

Thursday’s Europa League first leg of the round 16 match between the Czech football club Slavia Prague and Scotland’s Glasgow Rangers ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals by Nicolae Stanciu and Filip Helander.

The match took place at the Eden stadium in Prague, before the eyes of about 100 doctors, nurses and other medical personnel, who were invited by the Slavia.

In the next leg, the current Czech champions travel to Scotland on Thursday, March 18. Slavia is now fighting for to reach the Europa League quarter finals. The Czech club’s best result so far was making the semi-finals of the 1996 UEFA Cup.
