FM Lipavský to propose restrictions on Russian diplomats in Schengen at EU meeting

Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (Spolu) will once again push for restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats within the Schengen area at the upcoming meeting of European Union foreign ministers on Saturday. EU sanctions against Russia, due to its military aggression in Ukraine, could in the forthcoming 19th sanctions package target Russia’s shadow fleet, which Moscow uses to circumvent existing sanctions, especially regarding oil exports. Lipavský told reporters this today before his departure for an informal meeting in Copenhagen. The situation in the Middle East will also be on the agenda.
