Five children among canoeists rescued from turbulent river

Fire officers had to rescue 10 canoeists, including five children, from the turbulent River Morava in Moravia on Saturday. All of them were suffering from hypothermia but none of them were injured, a spokesperson for the Olomouc Region fire service said.

The fire service called on canoeists to adapt their plans in response to the current state of rivers, which have been affected by heavy storms and intense rain, and not to overestimate their skills or experience.
