Fitch maintains negative outlook for Czech economy

The international credit rating agency Fitch has affirmed the Czech Republic’s credit rating at AA-, which is one level below the highest possible level.

However, Fitch has also maintained its negative long-term outlook for the country, which means it could in the near future lower its assessment of the Czechia’s abilities to pay its international debt.

According to the agency, the negative outlook reflects “sustained deterioration in public finances metrics and uncertainty regarding structural fiscal imbalances over the medium term.”
