First title in four years sends Plíšková up rankings

Czech tennis player Karolína Plíšková has jumped 19 places in the WTA world rankings to 59th, after winning the Transylvania Open championship in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on Sunday.

It was the first title in four years for Plíšková, who is a former world number one.

The highest-placed Czech in the women’s world rankings at present is Markéta Vondroušová, in eighth. Jiří Lehečka is 32nd in the men’s game.
