Fiala: Dukovany tender process must go ahead without delay

Czech prime minister designate Petr Fiala says that a tender process for construction of a new unit at the Dukovany nuclear power station should be launched without delay. Speaking to Czech Radio, the Civic Democrats chairman said that it was absolutely necessary for the tender to be announced quickly and for preparatory work to start so that construction can begin in 2029. Otherwise, the outcome would be really bad, Mr. Fiala said.

The Czech intelligence services and Ministry of the Interior have recently been evaluating security questionnaires from three companies bidding to build the new nuclear unit: France’s EdF, American firm Westinghouse and South Korea’s KHNP.
